Board Member Spotlight: Laura Alexander Honored for a Life of Service

At C.A.T.S., we are fortunate to be surrounded by people who lead with compassion, generosity, and action. We are proud to spotlight one of our very own board members, Laura Alexander, who was recently recognized as a Hero in Health through United Way of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Heroes Project

Laura’s recognition reflects what so many families, children, and community partners already know, which is that service is at the heart of everything she does.

As a pediatric physical therapist, Laura brings calm expertise and encouragement to children and families navigating complex challenges. Her work helps children build mobility, independence, and confidence while supporting caregivers every step of the way.

Her impact reaches far beyond the clinic. Laura has also dedicated countless hours to Camp Easterseals Virginia and has helped expand access to life-changing resources through her service with Children’s Assistive Technology Service.  Through her leadership, advocacy, and heart for others, she continues to make a lasting difference across Virginia.

At C.A.T.S., Laura’s insight, passion, and unwavering commitment help guide our mission of providing assistive technology at no cost to children and families who need it most. She represents the very best of what community leadership looks like by using her talents to lift others and create meaningful change.

We are incredibly grateful for Laura and proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor.

Congratulations, Laura, and thank you for all you do to help children thrive.
