A Special Partnership Brings Halloween Joy and Support Across State Lines
At Children’s Assistive Technology Service (C.A.T.S.), we are continually amazed and inspired by the communities that rally around our mission to provide assistive technology to children with disabilities at no cost. This Halloween season, we are especially grateful for our incredible partnership with the Mercer County Special Services School District (MCSSSD), Hopewell Valley Regional School District (HVRSD), and Timberlane Middle School in New Jersey. Together, they created unforgettable memories for their students while becoming one of our most passionate supporters through their participation in the 2024 Hallowheels fundraiser.
Educators from MCSSSD, HVRSD, and Timberlane Middle School went above and beyond to ensure that their students with special needs experienced the joy and excitement of Halloween in an inclusive and memorable way. Through creative collaboration, a group of STEM students at Timberlane Middle designed and built adaptive Halloween costumes transforming Halloween into an event where every child felt seen, valued, and celebrated.
The full story of this heartwarming initiative can be read here: Special project unites Mercer County Special Services and Hopewell students.
To the educators, students, and families who made this partnership possible: thank you. Your commitment to inclusion, creativity, and generosity embodies the spirit of C.A.T.S. and the power of community. Together, we are not only creating joyful memories but also building a future where every child has access to the tools they need to succeed. Let’s continue to expand the reach of C.A.T.S. and ensure that every child, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to shine.
