Ensuring a Safe Ride for All: C.A.T.S. Partners with Henrico County Public Schools
As the new school year begins, Children’s Assistive Technology Service (C.A.T.S.) is proud to have played a role in ensuring a safe and happy ride to school for children with disabilities. On August 5th and 6th, we partnered with Henrico County Public Schools to hold a 2-day in-service training for special needs school bus drivers.
The training sessions were designed to equip bus drivers with the skills and knowledge they need to safely transport students with a variety of mobility needs. Thanks to the wheelchairs provided by C.A.T.S., the drivers received valuable hands-on experience, learning how to properly secure and manage different types of wheelchairs on their buses. This training is crucial in ensuring that all students, regardless of their physical abilities, can enjoy a smooth and safe journey to and from school.
This training initiative is a fantastic way to kick off the new school year. By investing time and resources into this training, Henrico County Public Schools has demonstrated their commitment to the safety and well-being of their students. The skills and confidence gained by the bus drivers during these sessions will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the daily school experience of children with disabilities.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Henrico County Public Schools for allowing C.A.T.S. to support their incredible team of bus drivers. These drivers play a vital role in the education system, ensuring that children arrive at school safely and ready to learn. Their dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed, and we are honored to contribute to their training and preparedness.
As we move forward into the new school year, C.A.T.S. remains committed to our mission of providing assistive technology to children with disabilities at no cost. We look forward to continuing our partnerships and expanding our impact, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Thank you to everyone involved for making this training a success. Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead, filled with learning, growth, and safe journeys for all students!
