A Plan For a Van!

Roanoke Valley Gives Day is coming up March 14th! CATS is just one of more than 150 nonprofits in SW Virginia who are participating in this 24-hour online giving event sponsored by the Foundation for Roanoke Valley.
Last year this was our most successful fund raising event ever, earning nearly $11K. This year, we are asking our supporters to pitch in and do it again! Our goal is our Plan for a Van and $20K. All donors who give $100 or more will receive a T shirt: The plan for a van . . . I delivered so CATS can!
Currently, our amazing volunteers are putting wear and tear on their own personal vehicles (and their backs) in order to get equipment to those who need it. With no protection from the elements and heavy items needing to be lifted and/or rolled up a ramp, this process can be quite cumbersome.
A cargo van would provide a lower loading deck, making it easier for our volunteers to get the equipment into the vehicle, as well as protection from wet weather, so that no delivery is delayed on account of the elements.

Truth be told, CATS could really use two vans, one stationed in Norfolk, and the other in Roanoke, and used vehicles are okay of course! If you or someone you know wants to donate a van…..

• Make a donation on March 14th, 2018 by visiting find the Children’s Assistive Technology Services fundraising page. You can also schedule a donation to be made on this date if you’d like to do so ahead of time. Encourage all your friends to do the same!
• Let us know about any business who would to appear on our website and Facebook page by sponsoring one hour of giving, matching donations made in just that one hour, between 8 am and 8 pm (a donation maximum would certainly be acceptable!)
