CORAkids—a CORA Physical Therapy program– has renewed its sponsorship of CATS mission: Through responsible re-use, meeting the equipment needs of children living with disability, when health insurance is unavailable, insufficient or uncooperative! This agreement allows for a closer working relationship to benefit “our” kids.
Huge thank you to GFWC Roanoke County Woman’s Club for their ongoing support of CATS, specifically through sponsorship of HalloWheels. This Club has provided funding, food, and fun decorations for each of the HalloWheels events in the Roanoke area. All 3 years! This year they present a check for $1000 to assure the smiles shine through the masks.

Are you ready? Voting starts Monday, October 26: Hallowheels: a Halloween costume contest which turns wheelchairs into assets. This is a fundraiser for Children’s Assistive Technology Service (CATS) which in past years, provided volunteer teams competing by creating dream-come-true Halloween costumes for children who depend on wheelchair mobility. This year, due to Covid-19, we are doing it a bit differently!

While young people everywhere are moving on up and graduating, we wanted to let everyone know that CATS made the honor roll, too! CATS received the Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency for 2020 and was also recently recognized as a 2020 top-rated non-profit by Great NonProfits.
The Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation has given Children’s Assistive Technology Service $9000 to support the Pass It On Project in Bedford, Amherst, Appomattox and Campbell Counties, as well as the city of Lynchburg. We are so grateful for their support of our mission!
