Children’s Assistive Technology Service (C.A.T.S.) and the University of Lynchburg Department of Physical Therapy partnered on November 2, 2026, for a successful Kids Equipment Palooza. The event gave families the opportunity to receive adaptive equipment at no cost and work with university physical therapy students and faculty to have it fitted to their children.

An individual fitting gives families time to talk through how their child will use the equipment at home, at school, or in the community. It also gives physical therapy students hands-on experience working alongside faculty and learning directly from children and their caregivers.

The event is one way C.A.T.S. works with local partners to make adaptive equipment more accessible to children with disabilities across Virginia. C.A.T.S. thanks the University of Lynchburg students and faculty who helped with fittings and the families who shared their time and expertise about their children’s daily needs.

We’re grateful to the physical therapy students and faculty who shared their time and skills, and to the families who helped guide the fittings by sharing what their children need in everyday life. The right equipment can help a child move, play, and take part in more of the activities they enjoy.
