The Smith Mountain Lake Civitan Club recently presented a check to Children’s Assistive Technology Services (CATS) for $23,885. The money will be used by CATS to purchase a second van which will serve the Charlottesville to Richmond to Norfolk corridor, while the first van purchased through Roanoke Valley Gives 2018 will serve the western side of the state.
Sleepsafe Beds has generously donated a twin-size medium bed for the raffle at the Kids on the Move Equipment Expo September 16, 2017.

The Governor’s Volunteerism and Community Service Awards recognize the significant contributions of Virginia citizens to the life and welfare of the Commonwealth and its people. On April 10, 2018, CATS Founder and President, Cathie Cummins, PT was presented with the award for Outstanding Senior Volunteer for her work in creating the CATS program and growing it to serve children with disabilities throughout Virginia.

Five year old Christian will be receiving an adaptive bed provided through the generosity of Al Flora at SleepSafe Beds. Despite inclement weather the Richmond CATS Equipment Scrub this past Saturday was attended by 26 volunteers including staff from National Seating and Mobility who provided expertise in assessing for repairs needed.
On Thursday, June 21, CATS participated in the Roanoke Valley’s Day of Action, and welcomed five employees of the Eaton Corporation of Roanoke out for an Equipment Scrub.
