Thank you to all of you whose comments and reviews helped Children’s Assistive Technology Service earn a top rating with Great Nonprofits! We are a volunteer managed organization, growing fast, and flub-ups happen, though we do our best to fix them! We appreciate your support so that we might find our way to sustainability and better service for all of Virginia’s kids with disabilities.

Children’s Assistive Technology Service celebrated its 5th birthday yesterday evening at the home of founder and CEO Cathie Cummins and her husband Randy. In attendance were members of the Smith Mountain Lake community (Lions Club, Antique Boat Club, Civitans, neighbors, and friends) who have provided financial baking along with volunteers who repair, promote, transport, and deliver equipment to children across Virginia.
Hallowheels has become CATS annual FUNdraiser, and will be expanded this year. With the help of Bennett’s Village in Charlottesville, and Attendants4You LLC in Richmond, the event will be conducted simultaneously in four locations: Roanoke, Lynchburg, Charlottesville and Richmond. Children who depend on wheelchairs for mobility, between the ages of 4 and 16 years, are now being recruited to participate, on a first come first serve basis.
CATS is very proud to announce that CORA Physical Therapy has provided a major gift in support of our mission. This financial support was provided in recognition of our ongoing collaboration in the provision of services to kids who need adaptive equipment. A huge thank you and shout out
Our teams and children have met. Costume ideas have been exchanged and the fabrication has begun! We are excited to see the results, but this could not happen without our Hallowheels sponsors! Please join us in thanking them:
